LOCAL-FRESH-FAMILY
All in the Family!

The Berry Farm & Orchard was always a family farm, until April of 2017 when the family farm dreams of being a successful business became a reality! Stacey Mullen and Benji Adam, founders of “The Berry Farm” put this dream into effect – and made it what it is today!
A family farm experience where individuals or families can pick their own fruit in a quiet, relaxing, scenic atmosphere.
From family farm to berry business
Our Story
The farm was purchased over 40 years ago by the Adam family and it was sort of a junkyard with old cars and debris all over the property. After a big clean-up, the property was originally farmed in corn, soybeans, hay. Steer were kept on the property as well. Back in 2005, Benji Adam started planting apple and peach trees in hopes to carry on the family tradition of a produce business like his uncles in central PA – where the original Adam farm is located. He and Stacey met in 2011 and started expanding the varieties of tree fruit. Soon after, Blueberries, Raspberries, and Strawberries were added, every year planting more and more! They had a small Pick Your own following and sold their fruit off of a small wagon, as well as wholesale. At the time, Stacey’s “day job” was managing Ontelaunee Orchards. In 2017, Ontelaunee Orchards shut their doors permanently and there was a need for another Pick Your Own Farm. Thus, the name and official business of The Berry Farm & Orchard was born!
The farm continues to grow every year! A block of high-density trellis apples was plated, a pick your own block of cherries, and continued expansion of berries, vegetables and more. They grow large acreage of pumpkins for wholesale, and even Christmas Trees! The flower fields are expanding and getting bigger every year as well.
Together they work as a team, there’s nothing Benji can’t grow; and Stacey, a Penn State grad with a degree in Agriculture, plays a major role in Berks County Agriculture. The two of them had made The Berry Farm and Orchard the success it is today! Stacey now works as a specialty crop consultant for a major fertilizer company while running The Berry Farm. Stacey was presented the 2017 Tressie S Caton Berks County Women in Agriculture Award, and in 2019 announced one of the 40 Under 40 Mid Atlantic Fruit Growers Leaders in Agriculture award.
Stacey’s daughter, Emily, has now graduated and holds a stake in the farm business. She hopes to expand the Berry Farm’s business with the berry plans, nursery plants, and flowers.
We have a passion for Agriculture and love sharing it with our customers!
